Denzel Curry, A$AP Ferg, TiaCorine, Bktherula et Key Nyata se sont associés pour un nouveau projet qu’ils appellent The Scythe. Leur premier album sous le nom de, Strictement 4 la fauxsort le 6 mars via Loma Vista. Le premier single « Lit Effect » produit par BNYX présente Curry et Bktherula au micro, avec une fonctionnalité supplémentaire de Lazer Dim 700. Découvrez son clip ci-dessous.
Un communiqué de presse explique que Denzel a formé The Scythe pour rendre hommage à l’héritage hip-hop du Sud et puiser dans « ses versions futuristes du rap régional old-school » de Memphis, Houston et Miami. « Le Scythe est une famille et un groupe », a expliqué Curry. « Nous avons toujours nos carrières solo respectives, mais quand nous nous réunissons, c’est The Scythe. »
Strictement 4 la faux s’étend sur huit titres au total et rappelle parfois le morceau rempli d’invités de Curry Roi du Sud espiègle Vol. 2 – en particulier avec la gamme d’artistes vedettes du nouveau LP, notamment Juicy J, Smino, Rich the Kind, 454, Luh Tyler, Sadboi et 1900Rugrat. Le disque Scythe est le premier album complet de Denzel depuis la version album 2024 de Roi du Sud espiègle.
